Christmas Get-together via zoom 2021

"We had hoped until the very end to celebrate the traditional Christmas tea in the Kaisersaal - but due to the Corona situation we had to switch back to Zoom.

A short bell ringing started the program with the LowBrass of Bethlehem, the selection ensemble of the trombone choir of the Bethlehemgemeinde Frankfurt, with Adeste Fideles, transmitted from the beautiful Johanniskirche in Frankfurt.

Officially it went on with the welcome by the president Yong-Hi Yim-Siegels, who also introduced the performers.

This was followed by an alternation of musical and literary performances: the powerful-voiced baritone Timon Führ, accompanied by Seung-Jo Cha on the piano, presented six Christmas carols, each accompanied by poems and stories recited by our club friends Dr. Sabine Schmitgen, Laura Melara-Dürbeck and Angela Schäfer.

Afterwards, Yong-Hi Yim-Siegels announced the result of the fundraising: € 5.975,-- were collected, for which the director of the senior citizens' home Hohenwald Mrs. Lavi and the director of the Mosaikschule Mr. Walter, who had joined our virtual meeting, thanked us very much in their speeches.

We heard Gloria in Excelsis Deo, played again by the wind ensemble, before Yong-Hi Yim-Siegels closed the program.

Traditionally "Silent Night" is sung together, this year two verses of this wonderful carol were played by the LowBrass of Bethlehem trombonists at the end and many a club friend sang along from home in front of the screen - the Christmas spirit seemed to have jumped over....

A heartfelt thank you to all who helped make this virtual program a success!
