Social Work
IWC club members are looking after the inhabitants of senior
citizens’ homes Kronthal and Hohenwald – here in the Zoo Frankfurt
in June. |

Clubmembers hosted the children from Mosaik School while they visited
the children's theatre "Papageno". |

Children played their violins for senior citizens. To the left

From the very beginning of the club history
its members have felt duty bound to do something to help others.
Shortly after its establishment in 1946 the IWC helped those who
were without work, actively helping them to find some kind of employment
and caring for the needy. Today the many social activities of the
IWC reach beyond the boundaries of Frankfurt and have helped needy
people over the years both internationally and in Germany. For many
years IWC members have voluntarily helped at:
- Two senior citizens’ homes in Kronberg
- The patients’ library at the Orthopaedic
Clinic, Frankfurt
- The Mosaik School for disabled
children
- Supporting UNICEF
- We are looking für reading mentors
In addition to all this, money remaining
from membership fees at the end of the club year and the funds raised
at the annual Friendship Ball are donated to charitable or cultural
projects and the donations from the Christmas Tea are divided between
the two senior citizens’ homes.
