Plenty to Say

Plenty to Say

What an appropriate name we chose for the group – since Plenty to Say came into existence 3 years ago with the intention of members fairly proficient in English wishing to enjoy themselves in a wide range of activities, there has rarely been a quiet moment when we get together from 12 – 3 on the second Thursday of every month.
True to the aim of the group our activities have ranged from grammar games (not very popular), to topics presented by the group (very varied), to acting out given situations (quite hilarious).
Our nickname, given to us by one of our members, is “the super soup group” as we enjoy a light lunch usually a bowl of soup during our meeting. The varieties of soup we have tasted are nearly as varied as the language activities.
We meet 10 times a year in the home of one of our members, and for this reason have to restrict the size of the group. At the moment we are complete but do invite interested guests from time to time.
This year we ventured further afield and visited Winchester, the ancient capital of England. True to our name and aim – the talking did not stop and our activities there were very varied as you can see in the photograph and read in the report below.
