Special Events
Three special events make up the high points
of the club year:
The awarding of the Elisabeth Norgall
Prize to a woman who has carried out special works to help other
women. Since 1978 this prize has been awarded on a rotation basis
to Germans and foreign nationals. The prize consists of a medal
and a financial award and is handed over each year in March at a
festive ceremony. This ceremony is not only highly appreciated by
members of the IWC but also attracts great interest amongst the
various media who give wide coverage to the award winner and her
work.
The Christmas Tea at the Frankfurt
Römer, in the magnificent Kaiser Saal, is where the IWC members
gather each December with guests and friends to enjoy home made
specialities. The donations from this occasion are divided between
the senior citizens’ homes of Kronthal and Hohenwald which the club
has cared for over many years.
The IWC shows a leg at the annual International
Friendship Ball at the beginning of the year where for a change
the help of male partners is appreciated . The funds raised at this
event are donated to a charitable or cultural organisation.
